All About Me ... Sasha Thompson
Hi,
My name is Sasha Thompson, Im 17 years old and am currently studing A levels at West Hatch High School. The subject most important to me is Media Studies. First experiencing this subject at AS in year 12, i found that it opened a new door to a whole new lot of experiences. My favourite part within Media is the filming and editing. I love to experiement with all the different camera angles and edits we could use to make a good, fun engaging film. I then decided that studying Media in year 13 would help me develop my skills and gain new perspectives for different ideas when making films.
About Me: Hayley Cook
Ruba Khan
Hello,
My name is Ruba Khan and I currently attend West Hatch Sixth Form. I started off studying Media at GCSE level where our task was to construct a print publication for a chosen product. As a team we chose to advertise a chocolate bar which we had to design together. We each got a different responsibility which we then discussed. My main role was to edit and design original images using Fire Fox and Photoshop. I enjoyed it immensely thus, decided to carry it onto AS. In AS we worked towards producing an opening sequence for a film. We divided the responsibilities equally, therefore we all had to do one of the roles atleast once. This included editing using Final Cut Express, being the director, being the cameraman and being the actor. I have now carried it onto A2 whilst receiving qualifications in GCSE and AS meaning that I have been able to improve my media skills vastly and I will now be able to use them to the best of my ability for A2 whilst producing a music video with my group.
Last year I joined up to a Media Club outside of school in my own time, in which we also had to create a music video amongst unfamiliar people. This has enabled me to use those skills in this coursework by communicating with my group correctly and using all the technological skills I adapted. This includes Adobe Fireworks in which I gained many skills such as using 9 Slice Scaling.

About Sepideh Safaei-Keshtgar
My name is Sepideh Safaei-Keshtgar and I am currently studying at West Hatch Sixth Form. I studied Media at GCSE and it is a subject of most interest to me; as it allows me to explore my inner creativity. At GCSE, we were set the task to produce a print publication, advertising a holiday company using original images. This allowed me to explore a different aspect of Media as I captured sceneries through my chosen perspective. I continued to study Media at AS, where as a group, we produced an opening sequence to a Horror film, and it was fun to see everybody’s ideas come together and work as a team. Therefore I have chosen to continue with Media at A Level, and to pick up new skills and experience both individually and as a team.
